Streamwire embraces Government’s Apprenticeship Scheme

Serviced Office Group is delighted to be participating in the Government’s Apprenticeship Scheme, by providing two apprenticeships during the current year to individuals who will be based at its Covent Garden offices and work within its fast-growing IT division, Streamwire.

The Government-backed initiative is designed to give young people the chance to experience life in the work place, while studying for nationally-recognised qualifications.

Streamwire’s first apprentice is 17-year old Ainsley Warren. Ainsley is a talented footballer and his working hours with Streamwire have been tailored to allow him to attend training and matches for his club.

He has now been joined by Streamwire’s second apprentice, 18-year old Tayyab Ingar. Tayyab has already gained experience in IT by working in a computer repair shop where he gave advice to customers on problems with their Personal Computers.

Ainsley and Tayyab are being offered mentoring and guidance by Streamwire team member Hollie Manwaring, who is herself a former apprentice.

“Our aim is to immerse the apprentices in a fully-operational IT department and to develop them by giving hands on experience in parallel to their formal training” says Anne Stokes, Managing Director of Streamwire.

“We believe that, over time, they will understand the balance between technical and real world environments and therefore have a real kick start to their future careers in IT. This is an excellent Programme for all businesses to help our school leavers to transition into the workplace successfully.”
